Half-Life-Style Portal Environment
In my home state of Texas, architect James Riely Gordon's courthouses are stunning and inspiring in their unique designs. When I saw an old watercolor in a museum depicting Gordon's Moorish-inspired Aransas courthouse that once stood in Rockport until its demolition in the 50's, I couldn't help but feel saddened at the loss of this beautiful structure and imagined it existing in another reality, one in which it withstood the tests of time and functioned as an elaborate, somewhat forgotten manor in the woods.
This personal project was meant to be an exercise in concept development using some techniques I've learned working in archviz. I modeled the building in modular components and used a mix of Quixel / Unreal marketplace assets to liven up the environment.
